Combustion Chamber Design

The most common chamber design in modern engines is either a domed or a pent-roof combustion chamber design, as these allow the maximum valve area within a given bore size. It also means that the spark plug can be placed right in the middle of the chamber, giving the best chance for a good burn of the air/fuel mixture.
